Idaho St. coach investigated

Idaho St. coach investigated,  Idaho State head coach Mike Kramer is being investigated by campus and local police after shoving a player, wide receiver Derek Graves, during a practice on Oct. 3.
A video obtained by ESPN's "Outside the Lines" shows Kramer sprinting across the field, speaking briefly with Graves and then shoving him to the ground.
Kramer is then shown stepping over Graves before walking away.

According to the "Outside the Lines" report, Idaho State campus police and the Pocatello Police Department are investigating whether Kramer's shove constitutes criminal behavior.

Graves told "Outside the Lines" that Kramer grew irate when the senior receiver waved off a freshman cornerback during one-on-one drills in favor of one of the Bengals' veteran cornerbacks.

Just prior to the shove, Kramer yelled, "He's a varsity f------ player," said Graves.
Graves told "Outside the Lines" that he has since suffered from neck spasms. The team's third-leading receiver, Graves has not been medically cleared to return to the field since the incident.

The "Outside the Lines" piece said that Graves filed a police report with the Pocatello Police Department on Sunday.

"I've seen Kramer get in guys' faces and curse them, but never saw him do anything like this or put his hands on anyone," Graves told "Outside the Lines."

"I was humiliated at the moment. If I retaliate, I could lose my senior season. If I didn't do anything, I would look like a punk. It was a no-win situation."

Idaho State has brought in a former federal law enforcement officer to investigate the shoving incident, university officials told the Idaho State Journal.

For now, Idaho State athletic director Jeff Tingey is declining to comment on the incident.

"University personnel do no comment on these issues," he said. "As a whole we don't comment on personnel issues. There's an ongoing investigation and we can't comment."
