Toyota recall: 91,000 in U.S. affected by latest Toyota recall, 91,000 cars are affected by the latest Toyota recall of Prius and Lexus hybrid cars. CNN Money reports June 5 that 242,000 of those models made between March and October 2009 are being recalled on a global scale by the Japanese auto maker.

Most of the cars being recalled are in Japan. Their number is about 117,000 impacted by the Toyota recall. In the United States there are 91,000 and 30,000 in Europe being recalled. There are less in other smaller market countries.

A spokeswoman for Toyota announced that a flaw was allowing nitrogen gas to leak into the brake fluid, reducing efficient operation of brakes. No reports of accidents or injuries have been reported, she claimed.

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. will inspect the brake booster pump assembly on recalled Prius and Lexus HS 250h cars and completely replace it if needed, the report said.

A Toyota recall was made just last month on 1.7 million cars affecting Corolla, Matrix and Tundra models because of issues related to airbags. In October 2012 7 million vehicles were recalled due to a power window defect which posed a fire risk.
