The Charlotte Hornets Are Back, and We Reflect on the Hornets of Old

The Charlotte Hornets Are Back, and We Reflect on the Hornets of Old, With news that the NBA has granted the Charlotte Bobcats permission to change their name back to the Hornets beginning with the 2014-15 season, we look back on the greatest parts of the franchise's history in teal and purple.

Seriously, how could you not like these guys?

Muggsy Bogues, at 5'3", is the shortest player in NBA history, yet he produced for over a decade. Alonzo Mourning was a true center in the glory days of NBA big men, and L.J. was absolutely dominant and beyond fun to watch.

Every basketball fan wanted one of those teal and purple pinstripe jerseys. No word on whether or not 2014's team will be rocking these all-time classics.

With the announcement that Starter jackets will be making a comeback, everyone's mind immediately went to: "They'll be beginning with the Hornets jacket, right?"

Larry Johnson was a force on the court but also showed that he was comfortable in drag in Converse's fantastic "Grandmama" campaign.

The most memorable on-court moment in franchise history came in the first round of the 1993 Eastern Conference playoffs when the Hornets became the first expansion team to win a playoff series with this dramatic buzzer-beater to close out their series with the Boston Celtics, 3-1.
