Ann Romney to co-host ‘Good Morning America’, Ann Romney, wife of GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, will co-host ABC's "Good Morning America" next week. [CNN report] Her press secretary, Sarah Haley, says Romney will act as co-host for the broadcast morning television show on Wednesday, October 10.
She will appear on the program in the 8 a.m. ET hour, GMA spokeswoman Alison Bridgman told CNN.
One of GMA's regular hosts, Robin Roberts, said in June that she was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, or MDS, and since late August has been on medical leave from the show while undergoing treatment. Roberts battled breast cancer five years ago.
She is "recuperating nicely" after a bone marrow transplant, one of the show's anchors, Sam Champion, said Thursday on the program.
Romney expressed her support for Robin's recovery in a tweet in August, saying "keep on fighting! We all stand with you!"
Romney is a breast cancer survivor as well and has multiple sclerosis.
Romney sat for a July interview with Roberts, in which she defended her husband's decision not to release additional tax documents and described him as a "generous person" for foregoing a salary when leading the Olympic Games and governing Massachusetts, as well as for the money he donates to his church.
She has also expressed a critical view of the media, telling CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger in an interview which ran Wednesday that the "media puts a very high bar for us."
