Dog pack murder: 4 pit bulls kill jogger, A dog pack murder happened to a jogger in Southern California by four pit bulls. The Oregonian reports May 30 that Pamela Devitt, 63, was mauled by the dogs while she was doing her run on May 9.
A driver in noticed dogs attacking Devitt and called 911. She tried getting the dogs to stop mauling her by honking the horn, but their vicious attack didn't cease. By the time a deputy arrived at the Littlerock location, one of the dogs was still attacking Devitt. His attempt to chase the dog off worked momentarily when the pit bull ran off, but soon turned around to attack him. The deputy shot the dog.
After the dog pack murder on Devitt, authorities took Jackson's dogs -- six pit bulls and two mixed-breed dogs.
Alex Jackson was arrested Thursday on a felony murder warrant and owner negligence. Jackson was released on bail while DNA testing was being done to determine his four pit bulls were actually the ones in the dog pack murder.
This isn't the first time Jackson has been in trouble with his dogs -- or the law, for that matter. There have been at least three instances in which his pack of dogs have attacked people since January. The dog pack murder was an attack that went too far.
