Amanda Peet history degree, Amanda Peet is an American actress who has appeared on film, stage and television. Born in New York City, she was raised by her father who is a Quaker and her mother who is Jewish. After graduating with a history degree from Columbia University,
Peet discovered a love for acting whilst taking a class by actress Uta Hagen. Her first on-screen performance was for a Skittles advert but she soon landed film roles, her first being the 1995 drama film Animal Room.
It was in 2000 when critics first started to notice the actress, though her role in The Whole Nine Yards, where she starred alongside Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry.
Peet became well-known for her film-work and she has an extensive filmography, with films such as Something's Gotta Give, The X-Files and 2012 on the list. She also has two children and is married to screenwriter David Benioff, who is the co-creator of popular TV series Game of Thrones.
