McDonald's late night, McDonald’s is trying out some new marketing strategies by offering a late-night menu that mixes up breakfast fare with regular meals, the Chicago Tribune reported in its June 7 business edition.

The McDonald’s late-night fare, called After Midnight, will be available in certain 24-hour restaurants in select local markets across the country, McDonald’s said.

McDonald’s late night with breakfast options is already available in parts of Delaware, and in Bryan and College Station, Texas. The late-night fare is apparently also available in Rockford, Illinois, and in Northern Indiana, with more venues likely to come if the McDonald’s late-night option proves successful.

Some McDonald’s stores are already open around-the-clock, so what makes this late-night option any different? The After Midnight menu changes things up.

Customers who visit the participating McDonald’s late at night have the option of mixing and matching best-selling items from the breakfast menu and the regular menu. For instance, you could order a Big Mac as well as hash browns and coffee, if that’s what you’re craving at 1 a.m. Or you could order up Chicken McNuggets and hot cakes from the McDonald’s late-night menu.

While the a al carte ordering option with the McDonald’s late-night menu may not seem like a breakthrough in fast-food dining, it’s certainly creating a lot of buzz.
