WVU DE Harris booted after armed robbery charge
Per WBOY, the Morgantown Police Department confirmed the arrest of Harris, 20, on charges of first-degree robbery and conspiracy resulting from an alleged robbery at a Morgantown home July 12. According to police, Harris and two other men broke into the home and held two residents at gunpoint before leaving with cash and electronics.
WV MetroNews reported that Harris had been dismissed from the team, citing a spokesman who stopped short of confirming the dismissal but did say the school would have "no comment on individuals who aren't with the West Virginia football program."
WV MetroNews also noted Harris no longer appears as part of the team's online roster. In April, Dana Holgorsen suspended Harris from the team for the spring semester, though without specifying a reason.
Harris appeared in 11 games as a true freshman, making four tackles. A three-star recruit from St. Augustine, Fla., Harris chose the Mountaineers over offers from Cincinnati and FIU.
