Howard Stern mansion

Howard Stern mansion, First, he signed a deal to take a gig with SiriusXM radio that would pay him half a billion dollars, and then he went and picked up a multi-million-dollar second job as a judge on "America's Got Talent." So while a $52 million home may sound like a lot to you, it probably isn't to Howard Stern.

The shock jock has dropped that much on a mansion (and we mean mansion) in Palm Beach, Florida, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.

As per details provided by real estate website Trulia, the home sits on 3.25 waterfront acres and totals nearly 40,000 square feet (no that isn't a typo) of total living space, including a five-bedroom, 11-bath main house that totals 18,673 square feet, as well as a "smaller" structure, a beachfront pool, and formal gardens.

The previous owners – Martin Trust, the president of a New Hampshire-based investment firm, and his wife – purchased the land for less than $4.6 million in 1986 and had the manse custom built six years later. The property was never officially on the market and changed hands privately, making it the largest residential sale in Palm Beach this year. But it might not be by the end of the year.

A look at the Palm Beach Multiple Listing Service shows that there is currently a nine-bedroom waterfront home on the market for a whopping $74 million – in case you know anyone who might be interested in one-upping Stern.

Sadly, no interior photos of his new lair have surfaced yet, but from the looks of the aerial shot, there's plenty of privacy, something Stern seeks out when he's off the air. The 59-year-old – who has been married to animal activist and TV host Beth Ostrosky, 40, for more than four years – already owns two homes in New York: a luxury apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side and a mansion in the Hamptons.

Stern has talked often on his show over the years about eventually wanting to leave the cold Northeast winters behind and move to Florida, though considering he renewed his contract for another five years in 2010, he's committed to staying on until 2015. Though working from home in his own studio is always a possibility … there's clearly room for it.
