'Thinking Shakespeare Live!' at The Old Globe

'Thinking Shakespeare Live!' at The Old Globe, As the summer Shakespeare festival season quickly approaches, the Old Globe Theatre has a perfect way to help audiences understand the language of the Bard. “Thinking Shakespeare Live!” is an introduction that is perfect for families, young audiences, and people who may be intimidated by Shakespeare.

“Thinking Shakespeare Live!” is a ninety-minute presentation on Saturday, June 15 at 11am at the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage at the Old Globe. The Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein will lead this informative and fun presentation. He will also be helped by three classical actors to help demonstrate the approach actors can take to demystifying and performing Shakespeare.

This presentation is based on the book “Thinking Shakespeare: A How-To-Guide for Student Actors, Directors, and Anyone Else Who Wants to Feel More Comfortable with the Bard”, written by Edelstein. Called by NPR “one of the country’s leading Shakespeareans,” Edelstein and the actors will help the audience with techniques and a behind the scenes look at how to better read, hear and perform Shakespeare.

Tickets are $10 for subscribers and full-time students and $15 for general audiences. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, or by calling (619) 23-GLOBE.
