Tropical Storm Dalila Weakening in the Pacific, A tropical storm watch has been issued for the coast of southwestern Mexico following the formation of a tropical depression in the eastern Pacific.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Thursday afternoon the watch is in effect from Acapulco to Fortuna. The depression was expected to become a tropical storm Thursday night or Friday.

Late Thursday afternoon, the storm was located about 190 miles (310 kms) southeast of Acapulco and had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph (55 kph). It was moving northwest at 10 mph (17 kph).

The center says the center of the storm is expected to move parallel to the southwestern Mexico coast but remain offshore.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Dalila was forecast to weaken to a tropical depression in the eastern Pacific by Thursday night.
