Paltrow dad's cancer, Gwyneth Paltrow lost her dad to cancer back in 2002, and the experience started her ongoing obsession with healthy food choices, the actress reveals in an interview, reports Yahoo!7 on May 20. Paltrow first got interested in food as a health benefit when she researched an alkaline diet to try and halt Bruce Paltrow’s illness.
“I began to consider the effects of food when my father was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998. I started to research anti-cancer diets in hopes that he would try to hit it from all angles.” There was no apparent luck there, but preventing cancers and other disorders is easier than curing them, after all, and Paltrow, after her dad’s death from cancer, began moving her own diet – and her family’s life – in a healthier direction.
Gwyneth Paltrow, who is 40 but does not look it, avoids all processed food. That was her first step. She relies totally on organic produce, believing that these two steps can have a massive impact on mind and body.
The actress says: “It's about being mindful about what you are putting in. Good whole foods are the way we have eaten for generations. It's amazing how good you feel when you just cut out the processed stuff.”
Naturally, such a firm believer in healthy food would not let her children eat any other way. It’s how Apple and Moses deal with allergies and maintain a healthy life.
