Blaylock was airlifted to the Atlanta Medical Center after the car crash and was on life support initially. He has since been removed from that, but remains in critical condition. One possibility is that Blaylock has recently been suffering from seizures. The woman in the passenger seat of the van that Blaylock struck in the car crash died and her husband suffered from a broken ankle.
Mookie Blaylock was a star in college for the Oklahoma Sooners before moving on to the NBA, where he played for the Atlanta Hawks, making it to the All-Star game in 1994. He finished his NBA career playing for New Jersey, Atlanta and Golden State. In 13 seasons, Blaylock averaged 13.5 points and 6.2 assists.
Blaylock is also a huge pop culture phenomenon, as the band Pearl Jam was originally called Mookie Blaylock but were forced to change their name. Their album "Ten" was named after Blaylock's jersey number. Blaylock also made it clear that he is a huge fan of the band as well.
The former NBA star's car crash occurred on Friday and Mookie Blaylock remains in guarded condition.
