The video made it to number eight on youtube around the world and was the third most watched video last year on youtube in Canada.
Now the young Winnipegger has written and recorded her first original song, called You Are Enough. The song is available as a free download on welovefreemusic.com. Manager Steven Nowack stated the song has already received more than 10,000 downloads in just two days.
In an interview with SCENE, Aragon called the experience of recording the song "amazing."
She traveled to San Francisco to make the recording with legendary producer Narada Michael Walden at his Tarpan Studios.
Aragon says Walden encouraged her to give it her all. "There was good energy in the room and it rubbed off," she explains.
Walden has a pretty good track record for 'good energy', including producing number one hits with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross.
Aragon was also there to record a song that Walden wrote for her called When I Dance With You, inspired by the spirit of Whitney Houston who had just passed away. This song will be her second release.
Aragon says she hadn't even finished writing her own song when she entered the studio. She had the first verse written and an idea for the chorus, but that was all. But suddenly "inspiration flew through me," she says, and before long the song was complete and ready to record.
"I wanted to write this song as an anthem for people who underestimate themselves," she explains. "You should be proud of who you are. That's what it's about."
