George Zimmerman was acquitted by a jury of his peers on Saturday night, after 16 hours of deliberation, reports Yahoo News. It took only minutes for the Twitter uproar to begin, as reported on the New York Daily News tonight.
Mark O'Mara, defense attorney believes they did their job at presenting a case of self-defense for George Zimmerman, he conveys this while speaking at a press conference aired on Fox News. When the jury asked for clarification of manslaughter instructions in Florida, many believed Zimmerman was out of the danger zone, and they were correct. The jury did go for the acquittal.
The crowd outside the courthouse in Sanford Florida remained calm as they held signs that were in support of finding Zimmerman guilty. Tonight the reaction to this justice plays out across the nation, as Twitter is teaming on many aspects of this acquittal verdict.
Trayvon Martin's parents did not attend the reading of the verdict, they followed the prosecutors advice, who believed this would be a very trying time once the verdict was read and it would be best for his parents to be in a safe and undisclosed location.
Twitter is already is boiling over with comments from people, some who are very angry. The father of Trayvon Martin tweeted not too long after the verdict was read. Celebrities and everyday people who are disgusted with this acquittal have taken to the social network.
