Bad teacher to cbs, Even though the janitors JUST finished sweeping up the red plastic cups from The CW's post-Upfronts punch-bowl party, the Upfronts are NOT over! In an slightly unexpected maneuver, CBS has ordered one more pilot to series: the TV adaptation of the Cameron Diaz's 2011 zinger Bad Teacher. Joy.
Given the late decision, CBS will save this one for midseason. I'm guessing the network finally got a look at its crop of new sitcoms and panicked a bit. Plus, now that the network is expanding its Thursday comedy block to two hours, that's eight laughers on the schedule and there's nothing wrong with having a little backup.
I just wish they'd picked up Super Clyde (with that ginger kid from Harry Potter as a fast-food worker/superhero) instead.
Single-camera comedy Bad Teacher stars Ari Graynor in the role Diaz portrayed, that of a divorced woman who starts teaching to find a husband. I'm still trying to figure out how this setup is actually supposed to make sense. Doesn't she know that she'll be teaching KIDS?
Is she trying to marry a kid? Is she going after single dads? Does she have eyes on the gym teacher? The series also stars Ryan Hansen, David Alan Grier, Kristin Davis, and Sara Gilbert.
How does this sound to you, handsome/pretty reader?
