Josh Peck Overweight, My children love to turn on the Nickelodeon channel when they get home from school each day. I'm usually keeping busy around the house or writing, but recently I've been drawn into The Drake and Josh Show starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck. There were a total of four seasons produced for teen viewers.
In the first and second seasons Josh was a very big boy. He was big enough that the ten extra pounds that show up on film was unnoticeable. For a child in his teens, he was dangerously obese. Then by the third season he began to drop the weight off. By the end of the fourth and final season he had lost over 100 pounds.
I have always been a yo-yo with my weight. I'm one of those who will try every "easy" diet, but because of my lack of willpower, I either stay overweight or gain it all back after I lose it. When I see others lose weight, I become curious about how they did it because I want to do the same. I like Josh Peck. He has a very vivacious character about him. So I took some time to learn more about this fun loving guy and how he lost the weight.
Joshua Michael Peck was born on November 10, 1986. He became a child star as an actor and comedian in the late 1990's and early 2000's. He would usually play the chubby, funny kid such as he did on The Drake and Josh Show. I have seen many heavy comedians lose weight, and along with the extra pounds, they would lose their personality and character. Not Josh. He continues to carry his infectious charm even without the weight.
So how did he do it? What made him take control? Josh knows he's a role model for kids. He admits he doesn't understand why, but knows he is, nonetheless. He felt he not only needed to help in the fight against "child obesity", but he also needed to get healthy for his own sake. He states that it should never matter what a person looks like, but health should matter. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do this on his own. There was no "magic pill" or a special formulated drink like we all hope for. Josh hired a personal trainer and completely changed his eating habits.
There really is only one way to take the weight off. We all know that after a long, brisk walk we feel so great and full of energy. We all know that taking most or even all foods and drinks containing sugar away from our diet will give us energy rather than drain us after lunch and give us the feeling of needing a nap. We all know to stay away from the carbs for the same reason we need to stay away from sugar. Do we4 listen to our logical inner selves? Most of us don't.
Josh had the capability to hire specialists to help him. Unless you have the money for the stomach staple, the new stomach band, or hired personnel to make sure you follow through with your daily workout and your new diet program, you pretty much have to dig deep inside yourself, pull that will power to the surface, and get out there to make a change for the better.
Josh Peck is right, it doesn't matter how you look. We are all molded into our own looks and character. It does, however matter how you feel. There is nothing stopping us from making that healthy change in our lives except ourselves. I believe the best way to make a personal weight loss program work is by working together with a friend, and rewarding yourself after every ten pounds lost. The first ten pounds will put you into last year's jeans.
That is reward enough right there for me. The second ten pounds lost, go buy that shirt you've been wanting. The third ten pounds lost, buy that new pair of shoes. And when you reach your goal, go and get that complete makeover. The pedicure, manicure, facial, body massage, hair, get it all done, for the new you!
I will even go as far as challenge any of you out there. I will begin my program tomorrow or maybe Monday, well, maybe a week from today. I WILL do it! But I will challenge you to do the same. When we reach our goal, we can share it with everyone out there in an article about our own experience it what we did and how we did it to drop the pounds. We can be somewhat of each other's personal trainers. So, on your mark, get set........GO!
Thank you, Josh Peck, for giving me the initiative to get on the right track with my health. You look great and I'm very proud of you!
