Shooting inside Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Milwaukee Police are investigating after a shooting that happened inside Potawatomi Bingo Casino around 1:30 a.m.
A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was gambling with her boyfriend when they got into an altercation.
The woman's brother tried to intercede on her behalf.
During the altercation the woman was shot in the leg.
She was taken to Froedtert Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Her 27-year-old boyfriend from Wauwatosa was arrested.
Potawatomi officials released the following statement:
"We are thankful no one was hurt more seriously and that the situation was contained quickly.
Response by local law enforcement as well as our security team was outstanding. Potawatomi Bingo Casino will continue to cooperate and assist throughout investigation into this extremely isolated event."
The casino was temporarily closed and reopened to the public at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Police said that the suspect will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for possible charges in the coming days.
