Menifee autistic boy missing: May not respond to strangers, mother warns, A Menifee autistic boy is still missing and police are conveying a sense of urgency in finding the child. The Menifee autistic boy was last seen at his home on Saturday evening about 7:30 p.m., but it wasn't until Sunday morning that the 11-year-old was discovered missing. The mother said he wasn't there when she woke up, according to The Inquisitr on July 9, 2013.
With the heat rising in triple digits during the day, this autistic boy wandering the foothills near his home could be in grave danger without water. The terrain in the area is not conducive for vehicles, so police are searching on horseback trying desperately to find this child.
The autistic child, Terry Smith, was at home with his older brother while Shawna Smith, the boy's mother, went out to dinner. When she returned home on Saturday evening she checked on her son, but when she got up Sunday morning he was gone.
Terry has a form of high-functioning autism, but he still might not show himself if it is a stranger calling his name. For this reason the search parties made up of many area volunteers, are asked to look carefully, for he may be hiding.
While foul play is not suspected, police have not ruled anything out as of yet. There are so little clues in this missing Menifee autistic boy's case. The father of the boy, who lives in another state, has been “eliminated as a suspect.” The police have also checked on alibis for area sex offenders.
Without water and the temperature at 100 plus degrees during the day, the situation is dire to find this young boy.
