Burt Reynolds On Archer, What happens when suave spy Sterling Archer meets his hero, Burt Reynolds? Sadly, his hero isn't terribly impressed, if this exclusive sneak peek at "The Man From Jupiter" is any indication.
"Archer" returns Thursday on FX, alongside the new animated comedy "Unsupervised," which comes from members of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's" creative team. But the main attraction when it comes to this Thursday's animated comedies is Burt Reynolds voicing himself on "Archer," an event that the show's creator, Adam Reed, discussed in depth in this story and podcast.
Sterling Archer, who is normally quite cool and blase, is transformed into an over-eager fan boy by Reynolds' presence, and babbles excitedly about the mustachioed one's film resume -- when the super-spy is not accidentally putting both of them in harm's way, that is. Reynolds is suitably cool and collected, even when an increasingly insane car chase makes the delightfully droll comedy start to recall "Smokey and the Bandit's" wilder moments.
Reynolds isn't the only notable guest star stopping by "Archer" this season: Last week, the Huffington Post broke the story that "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston would be appearing in the show's two-part season finale as an astronaut who enlists the help of the Isis team. Jack McBrayer and Michael Rooker will also be part of the new season.
