Bowler shoots himself, A Florida man accidentally shot himself while bowling at Florida’s Jupiter Lanes on Tuesday night, WPBF reports.
"The guy just stepped up to bowl," Jim Miller said. "I think he hit his leg on his back swing."Witnesses say the man’s gun was in his pocket when the ball hit him in the leg that triggered the revolver, according to WPTV.
"Everybody kind of stopped," witness Debra Dean told WPBF. "We were way down on this end. Everybody was looking, and all of a sudden you can tell something wasn't right."
The incident happened at 7:30 p.m. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.
This isn’t the only accidental shooting in Florida this month. A St. Petersburg woman accidentally shot her friend in the leg while waiting in line at a Starbucks, the Huffington Post reports.
Pamela Beck dropped her purse which triggered her fully loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun to fire. Her injured friend, Amie Peterson, said Beck hadn’t planned on bringing the gun out in public.
"She had forgotten about it," St. Petersburg Police spokesman Mike Puetz.
