Drew brees foundation charities, Drew Brees just led the Saints to win the 2010 Super Bowl. He won the MVP award for the game too. He also works just as hard off the football field to help children, cancer patients, and New Orleans through charity work.
The Brees Dream Foundation was created by Drew Brees and his wife Brittany in 2003. It works to fund cancer research, give educational opportunities to children, and to help New Orleans. This foundation holds many events and thus far has donated more than $4,500,000 to charities and schools in New Orleans, West Lafayette/Purdue and San Diego.
Some key events held thus far include "Bikes for Kids," "Brees on the Tees Golf Pro-Am," "Cocktails for Katrina," and the "Drew Brees NFL Players Golf Championship."
It is always wonderful to see athletes working to use their fame to do good deeds in this world. The charity efforts of Drew and Brittany Brees have been very successful. Many schools and cancer research programs have benefited from the donations made by the Brees Dream Foundation.
Drew Brees is a hero on and off the field. He is a graduate of Purdue and in 2000 won the "Academic All-American Player of the Year Award." His success shows youngsters that excelling at both sports and academics is an obtainable goal. In 2004 Brees also won the "NFL Comeback Player of the Year" award. He has come back after a shoulder injury and has now achieved spectacular success at the Super Bowl.
