Terrence Williams Arrested

Terrence Williams Arrested, Celtics reserve guard Terrence Williams was released on $25,000 bond from a Kent, Wash., jail on Monday night after being arrested Sunday for second-degree assault.

Williams, according to police, threatened the mother of his 10-year-old son with a gun during a visitation transfer in a Kent parking lot. Williams left the scene but was arrested later Sunday afternoon without incident. Williams spent Sunday night in jail and was arraigned Monday afternoon and posted bond. He appeared in front of Judge Charles Delaurenti in handcuffs and wearing a red jumpsuit.

Williams, 25, just finished his first season with the Celtics and is signed through next season, though his contract is not fully guaranteed. He averaged 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 24 games.

The Celtics had no comment Monday.

Williams played with three teams — the Nets, Rockets, and Kings — over three seasons, building a reputation as a difficult player to coach. He played with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China this season before he was acquired by the Celtics.

He blended in well to the Celtics’ locker room and played an increasing role in the playoff series with the Knicks. Williams was going to be part of the training camp roster with a chance to guarantee his contract for next season by making the team.

Williams played high school basketball in Seattle and owns a home in the Seattle area. If convicted, Williams may face suspension by the NBA. He is scheduled back in court on Wednesday.

According to court records, the prosecution wanted $50,000 bail but Delaurenti settled for $25,000.
