Alanna Gallagher case: Unusual twist as bio dad defends polyamorous lifestyle, As authorities continue to investigate the murder of six year old Texas girl Alanna Gallagher, reports have surfaced indicating the makeup of her family is somewhat unusual, according to a July 10, 2013 NBC DFW report.
A member of the girl's family has spoken publicly about the family, defending polyamory as a lifestyle choice.
Laura Gallagher, Alanna’s mother, lives with Karl Gallagher and the biological father of the little girl, Miles McDaniel—according to Laura’s blog, reports The Stir.
NBC reports that McDaniel spoke to reporters Tuesday, saying “I want to find out who did this… I want justice. And I hope that they can be found.”
He defended the family’s polyamorous lifestyle, stating, “Anyone who knows the family knows that there are three parents in the family… if anyone is interested, Google polyamory.”
Police have ruled out any of Alanna’s family members as suspects in the case, reports NBC.
Alanna’s nude body was found in a Saginaw intersection at around 7:30 pm on July 1. She was wrapped in a tarp and reportedly had a plastic bag placed over her head. Several media reports indicate her hands and feet were bound with a red ribbon or tape.
Police are investigating a red truck with a green splotch that was seen in the Fort Worth area a month earlier. NBC reports the man driving the truck attempted to lure two young sisters into the vehicle, but their father scared the man away.
Alanna is slated to be laid to rest at 11 am on Thursday, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Richland Hills. Following the funeral, she will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery.
