Bill Gates gets teary

Bill Gates gets teary, Bill Gates gets teary in his latest "60 Minutes" interview, which aired Sunday. During a segment with Charlie Rose, Bill Gates gets teary eyed as he recounts his final conversation with his longtime business rival and friend, Apple guru Steve Jobs.

Jobs passed away from complications resulting from pancreatic cancer in 2011, but Bill Gates gets teary eyed as he talks about their discussion of business, life and the future. Gates talked about how Jobs told him about his plans for a new yacht, and despite the fact he would never sail on it he remained optimistic and "forward thinking." Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the emotional interview:

Bill Gates gets teary discussing Jobs, a man with whom he had a tumultuous relationship throughout the 80s and 90s as the tech titans competed for dominance in shaping the digital world. In his biography, Steve Jobs labels Bill Gates a thief and criticizes what he saw as Gates' lack of vision.

"Bill is basically unimaginative and has never invented anything, which is why I think he's more comfortable now in philanthropy than technology. He just shamelessly ripped off other people's ideas," Jobs said in his biography.

And although Bill Gates got teary discussing Jobs, he did not mince words when talking about the late Apple titan. He told biographer Walter Isaacson that Jobs was "fundamentally odd" and "weirdly flawed as a human being." He called Jobs a man who was "either in the mode of saying you were sh-t or trying to seduce you" and that Jobs "really never knew much about technology."

Despite their differences, Bill Gates gets teary in the "60 Minutes" interview, especially as he discusses how he and Jobs were so similar in so many ways, despite their perceived differences as businessmen and visionaries.

"We were within a year of the same age, and we were kind of naively optimistic and built big companies," Gates says in the interview, according to "60 Minutes." "And every fantasy we had about creating products and learning new things-- we achieved all of it. And most of it as rivals. But we always retained a certain respect and communication, including even when he was sick."
