The veteran middle linebacker is currently a free agent, after having spent years as a key play maker with the Chicago Bears. Reports about the Minnesota Vikings interest in Urlacher have differed in recent weeks.
While the team initially indicated they were not interested in signing Urlacher, sources had said that they had begun paying attention to Urlacher and considering whether he may have a role on the Vikings line. The Vikings are now saying that they are look at existing talent to fill the middle linebacker slot.
Fans of the 34-year-old linebacker are are still hopeful that his NFL career will continue, although it remains to be seen where his next step may be. Urlacher was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2000 NFL Draft and became a dominant defensive player for the franchise. During his tenure with the Bears, Urlacher earned eight Pro Bowl appearances.
