Galifianakis goatee, Zach Galifianakis debuted a new shapely goatee in the place of the beard he wears in the new film "The Hangover III."
The 43-year-old actor attended the film's premiere in Paris on Monday where he paired the new facial hair with a smart gray suit and pink tie.
Just one week earlier, Galifiankis attended the Los Angeles premiere of "The Hangover III" where he boasted his signature fully-grown beard.
The drastic change has made waves with the actor's fans, with many making jokes about the clean-shaven look. Twitter was flooded with posts about Galifianakis' new facial hair.
"Galifianakis' beard must be nursing its own hangover somewhere," joked MSN Now. Amber added, "Why did Zack Galifiankis shave his trademark beard?! The scruffier he is, the better!"
"Zach Galifianakis (is) unrecognizable without his beard," observed Carlie.
Jessica posted, "This is upsetting me," while Twitter user Kristen wrote that the goatee made Galifiankis look like a "hottie."
Galifianakis donned the bearded look in 2009's hit "The Hangover" as well as its sequels. The actor portrayed Alan Garner alongside Bradley Cooper, Ed Helm, and Heather Graham, among others.
Earlier this month, the "Hangover" cast appeared on "Saturday Night Live" where Galifianakis served as host.
The night started off with a funny monologue by the "Due Date" star before the joining the rest of the "SNL" cast members and then appearing in a skit beside Cooper and Helm.
Galifianakis donned long blonde wig, a "Friends" t-shirt and skirt intended to mimic Aniston while he pretended to conduct an Aniston look-alike contest.
When "Radley Cooper" and "Ted Pelms" appeared also in blonde wigs, Galifianakis expressed disappointment over their black and denim outfits.
"They're not even wearing 'Friends' t-shirts," the actor complained during the show. When "SNL" actors Nasim Pedradand Taran Killam questioned the t-shirt comment, Galifianakis added, "Why would she wear it? Oh, I don't know, because she got it for free at work!"
The humorous skit then included the actors collaborating on a rendition of Dionne Warwick's "That's What Friends Are For."
