Finnish baby box: 'Traditional' gift arrives for Duchess Kate's baby, A Finnish baby box has been sent to Kate Middleton and Prince William as a gift for their baby. The traditional box is filled with items such as a snowsuit and a duvet, socks and even condoms. On July 4, Mail Online reported that the gift is very useful and that the Duke and Duchess will likely be able to use of all of the contents.
"The kit, which is issued to every Finnish mother, contains everything a new parent could possibly need while the box it arrives in doubles as a crib," Mail Online reports. While the royal baby probably won't be sleeping in a box, the gift proves itself to be completely unique, green, and useful.
The Finnish baby box arrived just days before the impending arrival of the royal baby. Kate Middleton is due any day now with many sites focusing on July 12 as the official due date. Even still, Kate could go into labor at any time since she's at the end of her third trimester. For the past two weeks she has really taken it easy and spent time preparing for baby -- and the latest gift that she received can only help.
"We were delighted to receive the very kind gift of a maternity package from the Finnish Government. It was a very thoughtful gesture. I'm sure the Duke and Duchess will be very interested to see the contents," a Kensington Palace spokesperson said.
The Finnish baby box was likely filled with gender-friendly items since Kate Middleton and Prince William do not know the sex of their baby. When do you think the little royal will be born?
