Vampire Diaries' season 5 spoilers: Jeremy and Matt's future teased,"The Vampire Diaries" is preparing for season five on CW, and now fans are getting another set of spoilers for the season ahead. On Tuesday, May 21, TV Line shared more spoilers for season five from Julie Plec.

Things will change drastically for two characters on the series during season five. Jeremy has returned from the dead, and Matt has gone off for a trip around the world with Rebekah. For Jeremy, no one will know the real reason he is alive. This will cause troubles for him. Julie Plec teased the following:
"There’s going to be some explaining to do and it’s not necessarily going to make his return to his old life very easy."
Fans will see more of Bonnie next season as well. Her death will not cut things off for her character. Jeremy can still see her, but she won't be able to do much of anything to help. As for Matt, his trip will change things for him as well. Rebekah will not immediately depart for New Orleans and "The Originals" this fall. Julie Plec teased the following about Matt:
"When we get back, we might see [them] still on their trip. When Matt gets back to Mystic Falls, his whole world will have changed. I can’t wait to see what comes out of that adventure and how he re-adapts to life at Mystic Grill."
There is more drama ahead for all of the characters on "The Vampire Diaries" The series will return to CW this fall.
