Golden Corral dumpster video: Buffet food stored near dumpster?, Golden Corral dumpster: A popular buffet chain restaurant located in Florida is under fire after an employee came forward with damaging accusations. Allegedly, a manager was fired for storing food in an unsafe manner outside during a food safety inspection. As of Monday, a viral YouTube video had over 120,000 views, citing a July 8 Click Orlando news report.
Brandon Huber, who claims to be a longtime employee at the Port Orange restaurant, used a digital camera on July 1 to film disturbing evidence of improper food handling.
Huber narrates as he walks towards a dumpster at the Golden Corral restaurant and soon comes upon stacks of raw meat and other items stored outside and uncovered in the trash area.
he video shows pans of beef patties used for "melts," uncooked "all-you-can-eat-ribs," pot roast meat, bacon slices, a green bean casserole, a pan full of gravy and chicken.
Brandon claims that he is upset that management improperly stores food to avoid low marks during food inspections.
Eric Holm, owner of the location in question, said the manager behind the improper food handling was terminated.
Holm also said that the food found in the Golden Corral dumpster area was not served to guests and was properly disposed.
Additionally, the restaurant chain claimed the employee's father tried to blackmail the company by trying to sell it for several thousand dollars, according to Grub Street.
Also, Huber's criminal past for burglary charges and current probation was brought up. However, it's unknown what the relevance is if the manager was fired over the alleged food offenses.
