South Carolina price for gas is $3.19 a gallon, Average retail gasoline prices in Mississippi have fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.25 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com's daily survey of 2,014 gas outlets in Mississippi.
This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.50 per gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Mississippi during the past week, prices Sunday were 27.2 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 0.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has decreased 13.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 12.9 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
"After an impressive surge abated several weeks ago, we're seeing gasoline prices decline nicely," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "One in five states currently has at least one gas station with gasoline under $3/gallon: South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ohio, Texas, New Mexico, Virginia, Indiana, and Michigan all have at least one station statewide under $3. The national average is likely to continue its decline this week as retail prices catch up to the decrease in wholesale gasoline prices," DeHaan said.
The lowest gas prices in Gautier are $3.13 per gallon at Dodge's Store and Keith's both on U.S. 90.
The lowest gas prices in Pascagoula are at In and Out Stop on 14th Street and Minor Avenue for $3.19 per gallon.
As for Moss Point, four gas stations boast the same price of $3.14 per gallon, all of which are on Miss. 63. Those gas stations are Kangaroo, Pilot, Exxon, and RaceWay.
In Ocean Springs, the lowest gas prices are at Murphy Express on Bienville Boulevard and Hanshaw Road, and Shell on Main Street and Center Street for $3.18 per gallon.
