Tom Cruise Leaving Scientology, A new report suggests that the Church of Scientology may be losing its most famous ambassador, Tom Cruise, who is reportedly suffering a crisis of faith.
The new issue of Star magazine reveals new details in Tom's life that's led to speculation the movie star, who recently went through a quickie divorce from his third wife Katie Holmes, is having a crisis of faith.
"Tom hasn't admitted that he's definitely leaving Scientology for good," an insider told the magazine. "But he's distanced himself from those in the church and has been hanging out with good friends who aren't part of the religion."
'Scientology hasn't served him'
Tom, 50, is reportedly reconsidering his affiliation with the controversial church after his beliefs came under fire and his public image took a huge knock during his most recent divorce, and the impact it would have on Suri, his six-year-old daughter with Katie.
"Tom's been leaning on friends who have different perspectives, getting advice on moving on from Katie as well as on everything he's been going through with Scientology," the insider said.
"He's finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn't served him as well as he'd hoped - he's gone through three divorces, and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low."
Scientology was also blamed for the breakdown of his marriage to second wife Nicole Kidman, as well as ex-girlfriend Penélope Cruz. Tom was introduced to Scientology by his first wife Mimi Rogers.
Earlier this month, Vanity Fair published a shocking exposé which claimed that the Church of Scientology held top-secret auditions to help find Tom Cruise a new wife after his divorce from Nicole.
