Totally T-Boz, It’s TLC on TLC. The network said today it has ordered four episodes of Totally T-Boz, a reality series that will chronicle former TLC singer Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins’ attempt to revive her music career in Los Angeles.
John Doe Media is producing the series, which has begun filming ahead of a scheduled debut in early 2013. “This series will open the door into T-Boz’s struggles and successes, and the people who are there to support her as she works to make her dreams come true all over again,” TLC GM Amy Winter said.
Totally T-Boz (working title) is not the first venture into reality for the singer, who was part of the trio TLC that had four mulit-platinum albums in the 1990s but broke up in 2003 after the death of bandmate Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez.
In 2005, Watkins and remaining bandmate Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas had the series R U The Girl on UPN, about the band’s search for a replacement for Lopez. It lasted one season. Watkins was also on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice for five episodes in 2009 before being fired. Earlier this year, she said she and Thomas are planning a tour with a hologram to take the place of Lopez.
