Brett Favre 336 interceptions, The Brett Favre sexting scandal can finally be laid to rest. Remember back to his playing days with the New York Jets for this story. He was accused of sending racy and suggestive text messages to two part time massage therapists working for the team.
The two therapists, Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole, lost their jobs after they let the word out about the incident to a fellow therapist. Those close to the case have said that the two parties settled out of court, with no word on exactly how much money Favre had to give the women in order for this case to go away.
According to the therapists, Favre sent them text messages asking if they wanted to get together with him, and followed that up with another message in which he told them “I guess I have bad intentions.” Scavo told her husband about the incident, who asked Favre for an apology, he didn’t get one, and the women were let go by the Jets shortly after.
This incident marked a bad string of media attention for Brett Favre and his cell phone. Shortly before this case was brought to our attention, the old gunslinger had sent a photo of his manhood to then Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger. During the investigation resulting from this incident, reports surfaced about Favre pursuing the massage therapists, although the NFL stated that they didn’t have enough evidence to support such assertions.
The New York Jets have denied firing the women as a result of this incident, stating that they were hired as outside help and only worked several days for the team over a period of years. The team has said that they were never guaranteed future employment and simply weren’t brought back, that it had nothing to do with keeping the situation quiet.
Favre had previously attempted to deny the allegations and have the case thrown out of court. That obviously failed, and as a result the case proceeded to the result reached today.
Brett Favre was most famous for his playing days as a Green Bay Packer during his twenty year playing career. He began his career with the Atlanta Falcons and ended it with the Minnesota Vikings. Favre is known as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, although his off the field antics and constant debating over whether or not to retire during the latter part of his career caused a falling out between him and a significant portion of his fan base.
Favre has career records in passing yards (71,838), most passing touchdowns (508), most interceptions (336), most consecutive starts (269), and most MVP awards (3). He won one Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers at Super Bowl XXXI when he defeated the New England Patriots 35-21. He came up just short of another Super Bowl appearance with the Minnesota Vikings when they lost to the Saints thanks to a crippling interception by Favre at the end of the game.
