Teen planned attack: High school students saved from deadly explosion, An Oregon teen planned an attack on his high school in Albany, Ore. and was arrested Saturday evening after explosive devices were found in his bedroom. 17-year-old Grant Acord had an elaborate, diagram, and timeline for the bomb attack on West Albany High School, according to FOX News May 26.
Authorities were tipped off about his plan and followed up on the lead. What they found in Acord's bedroom Saturday were a multitude of explosive devices that included pipe bombs, Molotov cocktails, a napalm bomb, and a bomb made from Drano.
Benton County District Attorney John Haroldson said the teen who planned the attack faces aggravated murder charges and six counts of manufacturing and possessing destructive devices.
Haroldson said police know the exact date as to when Acord was going to set his plan into motion, but they won't reveal that information since it's critical to the case. He did share that the attack was going to happen soon and that after reviewing the evidence, it was going to be a devastating tragedy. A lot of students were saved from being murdered by a fellow classmate with an unknown motive.
It was noted that no other bombs were discovered when police did a thorough search of the high school.
The report states there was no indication that Grant Acord had obvious underlying mental problems. A senior at the school told FOX News that he would occasionally say hello to Acord -- a junior -- and he seemed like a nice enough guy.
